Interim Fundraising Cover

I’ve seen how quickly things can slip during these moments. A month turns into two. Draft bids sit unfinished. Reporting deadlines get pushed back. Pipelines lose momentum. By the time a new fundraiser starts, they’re faced with a pile of urgent work and very little context.

When a fundraiser leaves, the work doesn’t stop. Trust applications still need submitting. Funders still expect reports. Deadlines don’t pause just because a role is vacant.

I’ve seen how quickly things can slip during these moments. A month turns into two. Draft bids sit unfinished. Reporting deadlines get pushed back. Pipelines lose momentum. By the time a new fundraiser starts, they’re faced with a pile of urgent work and very little context.

This is where interim cover can make a real difference.

I offer short-term fundraising support to charities that need someone steady in place while they recruit. Usually for four to eight weeks, I step in to keep things moving behind the scenes. That might involve progressing live trust applications, completing funder reports, reviewing and updating the pipeline, or pulling together clear notes and plans for what’s coming next.

The aim isn’t to change everything or introduce new systems. It’s to maintain continuity. To protect income. And to make sure the organisation doesn’t lose ground during a period of transition.

I adapt the support to what’s needed. Some charities want hands-on delivery. Others just need oversight, reassurance, and an experienced eye to make sure nothing critical is missed. Either way, the work stays calm, focused, and practical.

With over 25 years’ experience in trust fundraising, I understand how important these in-between periods are. My role is to provide stability, keep relationships and funding on track, and leave the new fundraiser with a clear, manageable starting point.

If your organisation needs interim cover while you recruit, I’m happy to talk through what support could look like or share a simple outline of the process.
